Yvonne Morris

Yvonne’s love of art started when she was encouraged by her teacher to practice drawing at a very young age.  At sixteen however her interest was put on the back burner whilst she helped her parents run their family hotel. It was not until many years later that she was able to begin training in earnest and attend art college where she gained her University honours degree in Fine Art.

Portrait and figurative commissions followed but she felt stilted by the lack of expression this allowed her.  After much experimentation with materials and styles Yvonne produced a collection of work relating to houses and village scenes that were both colourful, textural and fun.

Inspiration was easily come by with seaside holidays, train journeys and trips she had made throughout her life.  This passion and creativity Yvonne’s work evokes has never waned but has grown in strength.
